At Wellstone students learn to read, write, speak and listen in both Spanish and English. Our historic sunlit building, named for the late Senator Paul Wellstone and his wife Sheila, offers students and families three computer labs and a beautiful, welcoming library with reading materials in both English and Spanish. Our goal is to educate students to be proficient in the Spanish and English languages and to develop a global perspective and understanding of other cultures. Learn more...
An option for Paul & Sheila Wellstone students is a dual immersion program that represents bilingual education at its best. In this model, each child gains confidence as both a first-language model and a second-language learner.
Paul & Sheila Wellstone Elementary School is committed to providing a rigorous learning experience for all students, so that every student will meet or exceed academic, social, and language benchmarks prior to entering middle school.
Help your student succeed. Parent tips about how to help students prepare for school, attend school regularly, study for exams and promote reading at home are available here. In addition tips are available in Spanish, Hmong and Somali.
Ours is a school where we strive to inspire and demand more of every child, as we would our own children.
