We have just finished our October theme of community. We have read books about the branches of government and the candidates running for president. Our students were able to see where our state representatives work during our tour of the Minnesota Capitol. We also put our learning into action on November 4th when we participated in our school-wide Kids Voting on Election Day. Our school elected Barack Obama for President and Al Franken for Senator! Below are the results from our election:
- Barack Obama 496, John McCain 53
- Al Franken 201, Norm Coleman 162
