Greetings and welcome back to the 2007-2008 school year!  I hope that you had a relaxing and peaceful summer. My name is Lisa Engelstad and I am the school counselor at Paul and Sheila Wellstone Elementary.  I am looking forward to working with children and families this year. It is important to note that this year, I have switched my room. I am still located on the 8th floor, but I will now be in room 806.

I will be teaching lessons in classrooms this year about problem-solving strategies, friendship skills, career information, school success, and other lesson topics as well. In addition, I will also be available to work with both individual students and small groups of students regarding many different issues. 

If a child is dealing with stress inside or outside of school, it could impact how they feel about school and learning. The following issues are examples of what I work with students about on a consistent basis: impulse control, anger management, self-esteem, problem-solving strategies, friendship skills, grief and loss, and many other issues as well. If you have concerns about child in relation to home or school, please don't hesitate to contact me.
