Staff Profile

My name is Ingrid O'Brien Avery (Ms. O'Brien).  I am a Multilingual Learner specialist working with the 4/5 BioSmart team.  Before coming to Wellstone, I was a teacher in California for 15 years, working mostly with elementary-age English learners. I have a Bachelor's in Development Studies from Brown University, and a Master's in Linguistics and a PhD in Educational Linguistics from Stanford.  When I'm not at school, I love spending time with my husband, my two boys, and our little dog, Peter.  We like to cook, go for walks, read, and watch TV together! I look forward to working with your student this year.
