Ms. Noreen Edwards

Noreen Edwards is a Level 2 Nutrition and Food Services Supervisor at Wellstone Elementary; she oversees a crew of six at the Dual Immersion School. Noreen has been with the Saint Paul Public Schools since 2011 working as a Nutrition Service Assistant at Como and Central High Schools before accepting a promotion.

When not at Wellstone, Noreen loves to cook dishes from her native country with Jamaican foods including jerk chicken, curry chicken, and red beans and rice with coconut milk being some of her all time favorites. Baking is another love of Noreen’s with cakes like pound, banana, and fruit being some of her specialities, as well as cinnamon rolls and biscuits from scratch frequently coming out of her oven. Getting outside with her family is a priority for her. She and her family have enjoyed numerous vacations including visiting state parks, hiking, and road trips to Yellowstone, Mount Rushmore and the southwestern part of the country. When not on the road, Noreen works a 2nd job providing security to high profile entertainers who perform in the Twin Cities.

Ms. Edwards was born in Jamaica and lived between that Caribbean country and Minnesota for many years. In 1991 the supervisor moved to Minnesota where she has permanently lived since that time. Although Noreen enjoys the Twin Cities, she thinks about exploring opportunities to move back to Jamaica or the Portland, Oregon area where the trees are plentiful and incredibly beautiful.

Ms. Edwards’ Grandmother LuCynnthia always said, “Do unto others as you would like them to do unto you.” This is a quote that guides Noreen in her personal and professional life.
